Doctors elected to the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons

Keith R. Birchard, MD was inducted as a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and Justin J. Sherfey, DO was inducted as an Associate Member of the AAOS on March 10, 2010, during ceremonies at the Academy's 2010 Annual Meeting in New Orleans.

An orthopaedic surgeon is a physician with extensive training in the diagnosis and non-surgical as well as surgical treatment of the musculoskeletal system, including bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, muscles, and nerves.  The Academy is the largest medical association for musculoskeletal specialists, with 35,664 members worldwide.
